Søholm Stentøj, which means Soholm’s sandstone, was founded in 1835 by Herman Sonne Wolffsen and Edvard Sonne. The name Søholm, comes from the factory where the two founders were employed, a pottery near Copenhagen, in 1828-1839. It was the oldest factory operating in Bornholm, a Danish island off the south coast of Sweden, until it closed in 1996. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003en the middle of the 20th century, Søholm produced a wide range of stoneware in various patterns and shapes.
