This pair of Safari chairs, model Cikada, was designed by Bengt Ruda for IKEA during the 1970s.

The design combines a light wooden frame with canvas seating and leather arm straps, clearly inspired by the classic Scandinavian interpretation of campaign furniture. The construction is simple and functional, while the slightly reclined seat gives the chairs a relaxed and comfortable character.
