Pair of Blue Glass Wall Sconces by Svend Aage Holm-Sorensen, Denmark, 1960s
A striking pair of wall sconces designed by renowned Danish lighting designer Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen for Holm Sorensen & Co.
These sconces are composed of vertical blue glass slats, which catch and diffuse the light in a distinctive way, producing a warm and atmospheric glow. Both decorative and functional, they embody Holm-Sørensen’s signature mix of modernist rigor and joyful brutalism. A rare find in this bold blue glass, these pieces add a sculptural accent to any interior.
Svend Aage Holm Sørensen (1913-2004) was a danish designer. He is known for his self-produced lightings. He probably designed lamps for other danish manufacturers before creating his own business.
