Danish Modernist Ceramic Table Lamp, Stoneware, Nils Kähler for HAK Denmark 1960
Uranium yellow square table lamp designed by Nils Kähler in the 1960s or 1970s. It comes in a sort of mustard-ochre colour, typical for Kähler's production of these years. It is made of glazed chamotte (danish clay).
Manufactured by Herman A Kähler Ceramic (HAK) in the town of Naestved in southern Denmark.
Nils Kähler was the fourth generation of the Kähler family actif in ceramics, he introduced the Scandinavian Modern look to the products in the 1960-70s. The Kähler brand is still appreciated as one of Denmark's greatest 20th century ceramic successes.
Reminds the creations of Allan Schmidt, Jens Thirslund and Svend Hammershoi which worked all three for Kähler in the 1960-1970s.
