DCW Dining Chair Wood Walnut by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller, 1950s

Regular price €1.575

An authentic DCW (Dining Chair Wood) designed by Charles & Ray Eames and produced by Herman Miller during the 1950s.

Part of the groundbreaking molded plywood furniture collection developed by the Eames Office, the DCW is widely regarded as one of the most important chair designs of the twentieth century. Its sculptural form combines comfort, lightness and technical innovation through a series of carefully molded plywood elements connected by rubber shock mounts.

This example belongs to the 2nd Generation DCW, corresponding to the first Herman Miller production period following the Evans Products era produced between 1950 and 1953.

The chair retains its beautiful original finish and remains in very good vintage condition. The surfaces show honest signs of age and use, while preserving their original character. The backrest shock mount has been replaced at some point during its lifetime, ensuring continued structural integrity.

A highly collectible piece of American mid-century modern design that works equally well as a dining chair, desk chair or standalone accent piece.
