Early LC1 Chair by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand for Cassina, 1960s
The LC1 chair has been designed by Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in 1928.
Cassina bought the rights and started to produce these chairs around 1960. This particular chair is numbered 10.601 and must have been produced in the late 1960s.
Stamped beneath the rear cross tube, "Le Corbusier LC/1 10601". This is the way the early Cassina chairs were signed. The Brand name Cassina appeared only in later years on the chairs.
The chair is in a very nice vintage state. The black pony or cow-hide upholstery is original to the chair, with some light hair-loss to the seat. The armrests in thick black leather are original too. The chrome is in nearly perfect state.
