Rare pair of Kastor wall lamps, designed by Jo Hammerborg for the renowned Danish lighting manufacturer Fog & Mørup around 1969.

The Kastor is one of Hammerborg's most sculptural lighting designs. Each wall lamp is constructed from three elongated, curved copper elements arranged around an orange lacquered metal structure. Their overlapping forms conceal the light source while allowing a warm glow to escape between the copper shades and onto the wall.

The highly reflective copper surfaces give the lamps a distinctly architectural quality when switched off, while the orange interior intensifies the warm atmospheric light when illuminated.

The Kastor collection was produced in both copper and brass and included pendant, wall and floor lamp versions. The copper version, with its orange interior, is particularly striking.

The lamps remain in good vintage condition with visible age-related wear, including scratches, fine surface marks and patina to the copper. These traces are consistent with their age and are particularly visible on close inspection due to the highly reflective finish. One lamp retains its original Fog & Mørup – Made in Denmark label.
