Jo Hammerborg "Lento" Desk Lamp for Fog & Mørup, Brushed Brass, Denmark, 1960s
Designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, the Lento is one of the designer's most refined and understated desk lamps, perfectly illustrating the elegance of Danish Modern lighting during the 1960s.
The composition combines a slender black lacquered steel frame with beautifully brushed brass elements, creating a balanced contrast between lightness and solidity. The cylindrical double-layer shade provides controlled, glare-free illumination while showcasing Hammerborg's characteristic attention to proportion and functional simplicity.
The lamp offers excellent adjustability: the shade both tilts and rotates, allowing the light to be directed precisely where needed, making it equally suitable as a reading lamp, desk lamp or accent light.
This example retains its original brushed brass finish, which has developed a rich, warm patina over decades of careful use. Together with the crisp black frame, it gives the lamp a timeless architectural presence that integrates effortlessly into both Mid-Century and contemporary interiors.
An iconic piece from one of Denmark's finest lighting designers. Fog & Morup label present inside the shade.
