LC4 Chaise Longue No. 1382 by Le Corbusier, Jeanneret & Perriand for Cassina, 1960s

Regular price €2.550

The LC4 chaise longue, designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, is one of the most iconic designs of modern furniture.

This example is an early Cassina production, bearing the serial number 1382, and was most likely produced during the first years of Cassina’s manufacturing of the model in the 1960s.

The chaise longue features the characteristic chromed steel reclining frame resting on a black lacquered base. The adjustable structure allows the chair to move freely on the base, naturally adapting to the position of the body — a concept famously described by Le Corbusier as a “machine for resting.”

The head cushion is original, while the mattress has been replaced recently, ensuring comfortable use.

The piece is in very good vintage condition overall. The black base remains particularly well preserved. The chromed frame shows some scratches on the underside near the headrest and a few small rust spots on the tubes underneath. These are only visible on closer inspection and do not affect the structure or stability of the chaise.

An important classic of 20th-century design that continues to embody the radical elegance of early modernism.
