LCW Lounge Chair Wood, Charles & Ray Eames Evans / Herman Miller 1948-49 red stained
An early LCW (Lounge Chair Wood) red stained.
Chair sold by Herman Miller, but produced by Evans Plywood in 1948-1949.
The 5-2-5 screw arrangement beneath has only be used by Evans Products. Herman Miller produces from 1950 on, but with 4-2-5 screw pattern.
The production of the LCW has been stopped in 1958 until its re-introduction in 1994.
The LCW is stained red as is was originally. The chair still has its original screws and shock-mounts. The flat head screws indicate a transitional chair between the Evans and Herman Miller versions, on the later chairs screws with Philips heads have been used. The original label is present.
Very nice state, very small veneer damage on the front of the seat.
