LCW Lounge Chair Wood in Calico Ash, Charles & Ray Eames Evans / Herman Miller 1948
An early LCW (Lounge Chair Wood) in Calico Ash veneer.
Chair sold by Herman Miller, but still produced by Evans Plywood probably in 1948.
The 5-2-5 screw arrangement beneath has only be used by Evans Products. Herman Miller produces from 1949-1950 on, but with 4-2-5 screw pattern.
This particular chair has already the Herman Miller label, but doesn't have metal glides under the legs. The metal glides should have been placed on all chairs with the Herman Miller label, so this one must be a transitional chair produced when Herman Miller started to modify some production details.
The production of the LCW has been stopped in 1958 until its re-introduction in 1994.
The chair is mostly in original finish, it has been gently retouched by retaining the patina.
It comes in a great warm honey colour. It has it's original screws and the Herman Miller label.
