After several years of development by Ray & Charles Eames, the Herman Miller lounge chair went into production in 1956.
This particular example is a first generation chair manufactured between 1957 and 1960. It is recognizable by the 3 screw fixing of the armrests (from 1960 on, there were only 2 screws). The wooden parts in Brazilian Rosewood have been refinished. The original cushions are in thick black leather. They have been freshly refilled with feathers.
