Pair of Hans-Agne Jakobsson Pine Veneer Pendant Lamps for AB Ellysett, Sweden, 1970s
Designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and manufactured by AB Ellysett in Sweden, this beautiful pair of pine veneer pendant lamps perfectly illustrates the warm, atmospheric lighting for which Jakobsson became internationally renowned.
Their sculptural spherical form is created from finely bent pine veneer arranged in concentric stepped rings around an internal diffuser. The layered construction softens the light beautifully, producing the characteristic warm amber glow that has made these lamps highly sought after by collectors of Scandinavian modern design.
Both lamps retain an attractive original patina and have been professionally rewired with new white electrical cables, making them ready for everyday use.
One lamp presents an old, neatly executed repair to a veneer joint, visible on the close-up photographs. Apart from this, both lamps remain in very good vintage condition with only minor signs of age.
A rare opportunity to acquire a matching pair of one of Hans-Agne Jakobsson's most iconic lighting designs.
