Pair of BJS Adjustable Desk Lamps in White Lacquered Steel & Brass, Sweden, 1960s

Regular price €595

A beautiful and increasingly hard-to-find pair of adjustable desk lamps produced by Bäcklunds Järn & Smide (BJS) in Skellefteå, Sweden during the 1960s.

Their understated Scandinavian design combines clean white lacquered steel with elegant brass goosenecks, creating a timeless balance between functionality and refined simplicity. The flexible brass necks allow the shades to be positioned precisely, making them equally suitable as bedside lamps, reading lights or desk lamps.

Both lamps retain their original BJS manufacturer's stamp underneath the base and remain in good working order with their original switches.

The pair displays an attractive vintage patina. The lacquer shows expected wear, including small paint losses and scratches, while the brass has acquired a warm natural patina. As often seen with original painted lighting, the two lamps have aged slightly differently, resulting in a subtle variation in the tone of the white finish that further enhances their authenticity.

A charming and uncommon pair of Swedish Modern lamps that fits effortlessly into both contemporary and mid-century interiors.
