Pair of Søholm Table Lamps Model 1051 by Einar Johansen, Soholm, Denmark, 1960s
A beautiful pair of Danish ceramic table lamps designed by Einar Johansen for Søholm Keramik, Bornholm, during the 1960s.
Produced as model 1051, these lamps perfectly illustrate Johansen's distinctive ceramic vocabulary. The sculptural silhouette combines a tall matte black conical neck with a deeply moulded base finished in a rich flowing blue glaze, creating a striking contrast between matte and glossy surfaces.
Both lamp bases are signed underneath with Einar Johansen's characteristic stylised "EJ" monogram, together with the model number.
The lamps have been fitted with new textile-covered electrical cables and are supplied with new high-quality linen lampshades, making them ready for immediate use.
Although conceived as a matching pair, one lamp displays a slightly lighter blue glaze than the other. This subtle variation is entirely consistent with Søholm's hand-glazed production and adds to their handcrafted character.
An elegant pair that complements Scandinavian Modern, Mid-Century Modern and contemporary interiors alike.
