Set of 2 Brass Wall Mounted candleholders by Arthur Pe, Kolbäck, Sweden
A set of 2 Modernist candle-holders in solid brass, made in the 1960-70s.
Circular wall base, the socket fixed in a pendulum. To be used with so-called "Nordic" candles of +/- 12mm diameter, or just as a wall decoration. Signed on the back. 2 pairs available. Very nice condition with beautiful patina.
Created and made by Arthur Pettersson The artist was born in 1919 in Kolbäck, Sweden, where he lived and worked all his live. He signed his candleholders “Arthur Pe Kolbäck”.
Arthur Petterson had a training as a metalworker and started his own business “Arthur Petterssons Mekaniska Verkstad” in 1952 in the basement of his house. From that moment on he designed and produced brass candle-holders in his workshop. He continued this activity all his life, he didn’t retire, he just continued to create and produce brass candle-holders. Arthur Pettersson was 96 when he died on July 28, 2015.
